Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2025: A Global Beauty Industry Flagship Event
The 56th Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna (CPBO 2025) officially kicked off on March 20, 2025. As one of the world's most influential beauty industry events, this year's exhibition attracted over 3,000 companies from 65 countries, featuring more than 10,000 brands across 170,000 square meters of exhibition space, a 5.8% increase from the previous year. The event once again highlighted its strong international presence, with 56% of exhibitors from Europe and 44% from non-European countries, including 22% from Italy.
This year's show featured 29 national pavilions, showcasing beauty trends and specialties from countries and regions such as Australia, Brazil, China, South Korea, France, Germany, Japan, India, the U.K., the U.S., and more. New additions for 2025 included California and Tunisia, reflecting the exhibition's continuous expansion and global influence.

A Key Platform for New Brands and Product Launches
Compared to 2024, 35% of exhibitors at this year's CPBO are first-time participants, highlighting the event's strong innovation and industry vitality. Gianpiero Calzolari, President of BolognaFiere, stated:
"CPBO has always been a strategic platform for business and innovation. The increasing number of exhibitors and the growing global attention reflect the industry's resilience and dynamism. The success of this exhibition stems from our continuous commitment to creating growth opportunities for the beauty sector, providing essential tools for networking, innovation, and collaboration. As a result, CPBO has become the most internationally recognized trade show and is acknowledged as a strategic partner by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), and the Italian Cosmetics Association (Cosmetica Italia)."
Through collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), this year's exhibition has attracted over 80 international delegations, including key importers, distributors, and retailers, with a strong focus on the U.S., Africa, and the Gulf and Middle East regions. Matteo Zoppas, President of ITA, emphasized:
"The beauty industry is an outstanding representation of 'Made in Italy,' showcasing its vitality, innovation, and exceptional adaptability to global market changes. In 2024, Italy's beauty product exports reached €8.4 billion, marking an 11% increase from 2023, following a 21.9% surge from 2022 to 2023. These achievements affirm Italian companies' leading position in R&D and innovation, as well as their ability to anticipate international market demands.
Currently, exports account for over 40% of Italy's total beauty industry revenue. Italy remains a leader in global cosmetics production, manufacturing 67% of Europe's cosmetics and 55% of the world's beauty products. The ITA will continue to support the industry's international expansion, working with BolognaFiere to extend the CPBO model into key global markets, further strengthening Italy's role as an ambassador of 'Made in Italy' beauty products.
For CPBO 2025, we have organized 3,500 B2B meetings, bringing together over 220 international operators and key opinion leaders (KOLs) from 80+ countries. Among the regions with the highest short- and mid-term growth potential, Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa stand out. As part of the 'Mattei Plan' promoted by the Meloni government, ITA has expanded its presence in Kenya, Nigeria, and Senegal, increasing its direct offices to 12, along with 8 economic observatories."

Chinese Exhibitors Shine at CPBO 2025, Exploring Global Opportunities
Chinese exhibitors made a remarkable impact at this year's Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna (CPBO) 2025, with approximately 600 Chinese companies participating-a record-breaking number.
The China Pavilion was prominently featured in Halls 34 and 28. Hall 34, known as the China Finished Products Pavilion, showcased a wide range of innovative products and R&D achievements from China's leading domestic beauty brands, making it one of the exhibition's key highlights. Hall 28, designated as the COSMOPACK China Supply Chain & Packaging Pavilion, demonstrated China's technological expertise and design capabilities in beauty packaging materials, covering areas such as eco-friendly materials and smart packaging solutions.
The strong presence of Chinese exhibitors not only reflects their rising competitiveness in the global beauty industry but also underscores their strategic expansion into international markets in search of new business opportunities.
Dynamic & Functional Business Tools and New Solutions
CPBO continues to serve as a strategic platform for global stakeholders in the beauty industry. Enrico Zannini, General Manager of BolognaFiere, emphasized:
"This exhibition remains the only international event capable of comprehensively showcasing the latest developments in the beauty industry, thanks to its extensive coverage from the supply chain to finished products. The simultaneous opening of all exhibition halls on Thursday, March 20-an approach successfully introduced last year-has further enhanced interactions across different channels and sectors. To meet the needs of exhibitors and operators seeking more dynamic and immediate tools, this year's exhibition features a revamped layout, an expanded range of product categories, and the inclusion of highly influential new product sectors to align with market trends."
Additionally, CPBO has introduced exclusive matchmaking tools such as "Cosmoprof My Match," which creates valuable business opportunities by allowing professionals to schedule meetings directly during the exhibition. The platform also offers personalized consultation services, supported by the CPBO team, to cater to all distribution channels.
To enhance the experience for buyers from across the globe, specialized buyer lounges have been set up:
- Halls 14 and 36 serve as relaxation areas for buyers in the luxury and mass-market fragrance and cosmetics sectors, providing private and functional spaces for exclusive networking.
- Hall 37 features a dedicated lounge for hair salon professionals.
- The mezzanine between Halls 21 and 22 hosts a Herbal Beauty Lounge, curated by the Italian Cosmetics Association's Natural & Herbal Beauty Group, with a special focus on herbal-based beauty innovations.

Global Beauty Market Growth
The continuous expansion of CPBO is deeply rooted in the growth of the global beauty market. According to Euromonitor International, the global beauty industry is projected to exceed €612.8 billion in revenue by 2025, with an average annual growth rate of approximately 8% since 2023.
Among the top-performing markets, the United States remains the market leader, with the American beauty sector expected to reach €120.4 billion by 2025. Despite evolving market dynamics, the U.S. beauty industry continues to flourish, driven by innovation in organic and natural products.
China remains the second-largest beauty market globally, with an expected growth rate of 5% by 2025. Although international brands face challenges, Chinese domestic brands are on the rise, shaping new distribution strategies, industry trends, and consumer sales tools, influencing the global evolution of the beauty industry.
In terms of percentage growth, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America are experiencing the highest increases. Analysts are paying close attention to the African beauty market, which-driven by strong population growth-is rapidly emerging as a key global player in the industry.
