The brushless DC motor is a typical mechatronics device, which is widely used in the machinery industry. Many users do not know what reference standards are there when purchasing, and cannot judge the quality of the equipment. The following introduces those factors that should be considered when selecting the motor.

1. Maximum torque: DC brushless motor can be obtained by adding load torque, moment of inertia and friction, in addition, there are some additional factors that affect the maximum torque such as air gap air resistance.

2. Square-mode torque: The DC brushless motor can be approximated as the continuous output torque required by the actual application, which is determined by many factors: maximum torque, load torque, rotational inertia, acceleration, deceleration, and running time.

3. Speed: This is the speed required by the application. The speed demand of the motor can be determined according to the speed trapezoidal curve of the DC brushless motor. Usually, a 10% margin is required for calculation.
